Are you ready to change

Matthew Berean

This may seem like a rather innocuous question, but it is at the root of all obstacles we encounter on the path of searching for a greater sense of peace, ease, and calm in our body, life, and world – a body, life, or world that can seem to have shifted, stopped working or been completely turned upside down.

Many times we are thrust onto this path of looking for answers because of great upheaval in our physical and or mental experience.

Unexplained pain or chronic ache in the body can be exhausting and eventually leads us to seek answers and relief from what initially, many times, is perceived as a problem that needs to go away so we can return to our normal life.

Mental anguish due to recent significant changes or the weight of past struggles and traumas can detract from our ability to feel a fullness of vitality while also limiting our ability to connect to ourselves and others.

We can frequently be so attached and stuck in our familiar ways of doing things that even if we realize something has to change we have difficulty conceptualizing what that something might be. In these instances, our conscious mind is so desperate to find relief that we will look for the nearest quick fix to relieve the dis-ease we are now aware of. Many times these options are short lived, if effective at all, and we eventually find ourselves right back in the same rut.

To gain more insight into what will really serve us in our process of healing, we must begin to shift our focus within and see what we find. This involves learning how to slow down and listen to what our body has to say. In the process of building our awareness of our internal landscape, it can be helpful to have a map to navigate the territory that we find.

Mandala Awareness seeks to help people build a map to navigate the territory of their inner experience. By bringing the physical body into a greater state of balance and alignment, our mental awareness is then offered the opportunity to look upon the experiences in a different way, less activated by pain or discontent.

From a calmer vantage point, we are often able to see options or alternatives that were not initially apparent. In making different choices, we are able to slowly but surely learn to observe how they feel compared to the previous experience. This point of contrast allows us, over time, to make choices that better serve us, and in doing so, to gradually change in a direction of greater ease, peace, and calm.
