If you’re looking to “shift” how you’re feeling in and with your body, I highly recommend making a few visits to Matthew Berean.
It never ceases to amaze me,
- how he can hone in on a muscle, organ, or artery that’s gotten tied up and needs to move back to where it belongs,
- how huge an impact the right little move can make on how you feel physically and mentally,
- how lasting the “shift” in feeling is, compared with, for example, the temporary relief of a massage.
My husband literally dances out of his sessions with Matthew Berean, who’s helped him heal decades old sports injuries, improve the ease and feel of his golf swing, and cultivate the mind-body awareness every athlete can appreciate.
Matthew Berean moved my lung one day! Reached right in and shifted the organ around. I didn’t know I needed my lung moved, how years of stress had tightened up my chest, shortened my breathing, constricted my throat and entire respiratory function. And with that little move, I got back the easy, open, deep, relaxed way of breathing, speaking, and singing that I had as a kid and hadn’t even realized I had lost. Over a year later, I notice it almost daily and think: what an amazing gift this man is!
My little sister has suffered from debilitating, often weekly, migraines for years and years, possibly stemming from head trauma from a car accident in which she’d been as a kid. After having tried everything and heard the most frightening of diagnoses, ranging from TMJ to incurable, progressive neurological damage, she came down to Chicago from Madison, Wisconsin to see Matthew Berean. After a single session and a follow up session a month or so later wherein Matthew worked on her head and unpinching her brain, she obtained such lasting relief she texted me daily for several months – “Still no migraine! Another pain free day! Who is this magic man?”
This isn’t some foo foo passing new age fad. Matthew Berean is a true sports therapist, a former MIT rowing coach, and an athlete, himself. His working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is evident in every aspect of his work. On the other hand, I have to say, he’s also the only person I have ever met who has me thinking there really is no better term for a man like this than “Healer.”
